The archetypal image of tree is one of the important archetypal images in Jung’s analytical psychology. Jung absorbed a large number of materials from Western and Eastern cultures in his works, and discussed the Self and the Individuation contained in the image of tree. Starting from the visitor’s dream and active imagination about the tree, this paper interprets the image of the tree and the symbolic meaning of its changes in the dream through the seven steps of alchemy through the amplification technique, and demonstrates the growth process of the longitudinal development of the Self symbolized by the image of the tree with a practical case.
