In the talent cultivation of preschool education major in higher vocational colleges in ethnic areas, music classroom teaching has great significance. This article aims at the problems existing in the music classroom teaching of preschool education major in higher vocational colleges in ethnic areas, such as: the single teaching content, the lack of inheritance and promotion of ethnic music culture; the obsolete teaching methods; the lack of practical opportunities and platforms; the insufficient teaching resources; the insufficient teachers, etc. It discusses how to integrate the elements of Yi music culture into the music classroom teaching of preschool education major in higher vocational colleges in ethnic areas organically. It is proposed to update teaching philosophy, enrich teaching content, innovate teaching methods, strengthen cultural inheritance, strengthen practical teaching, integrate multimedia technology, introduce international exchanges and cooperation, establish a scientific and reasonable evaluation mechanism and other paths. Through the above strategies, further improve teachers’ quality, cultivate students’ comprehensive music ability and music literacy, so as to achieve the goal of cultivating qualified preschool education teachers.
