An Analysis of the Implications of Psychosocial Equilibrium Theory for Understanding the Characteristics of Contemporary College Students’ View of Marriage and Dating
Psycho-Social Homeostasis (PSH) is a theoretical model proposed by Xu Longguang for understanding the relationship between human psychology, behavior and culture. According to this theory, human beings are in a “field” of interaction between human beings, between human beings and objects, and between human beings and cultural norms, and are in a dynamic equilibrium between psychology and society. This paper uses the theory of “psychosocial equilibrium” to analyze the characteristics of contemporary college students’ views on marriage and love. Marriage concept and behavior are located in the third layer of “psychosocial equilibrium” theory, i.e., “intimate social relationship and culture”, i.e., “life package” (or spiritual package) layer, which plays a very important role for individuals. important role for individuals.
