Universities bear the responsibility of psychological education, and psychological counseling in universities plays an important role in cultivating positive and optimistic attitudes among college students, relieving their psychological worries, and preventing serious mental illnesses. This article is a psychological counseling intervention case for college students who experience general psychological problems due to academic setbacks, prominent family conflicts, and deteriorating dormitory relationships. The counselor and the visitor jointly discuss the counseling plan. The counselor uses rational emotional therapy and empty chair technology to help the visitor overcome emotional distress, overcome psychological pain, and restore psychological balance after 5 sessions. I hope this case can provide inspiration and reference for psychological counseling work in universities.
