Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the common neurodevelopmental disorders, characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Interventions for ADHD typically rely on medication, but parents’ concerns over medication side effects often lead to compliance issues. In recent years, music therapy has emerged as a non-pharmacological intervention with some success in the management of ADHD in children. This article aims to review the current application of music therapy for children with ADHD in China, exploring its therapeutic effects, discussing existing research gaps, and looking towards future prospects. The goal is to provide more insights for interventions for children with ADHD.
