This article presents a case report on the application of the Move to Emptiness Technique to address a high school student’s weariness of study. The client developed a strong aversion to studying due to excessive academic pressure, resulting in a leave of absence for over two months, accompanied by prominent somatization symptoms such as dizziness and vomiting. In total, three counseling sessions were conducted in this case, including an initial interview, Move to Emptiness Technique session, and a follow-up. During the second Move to Emptiness Technique session, the main symptom of the client, dizziness, was addressed, and the impact score decreased from 7 to 2, indicating clinically significant improvement. On the second day after the Move to Emptiness Technique session, the client smoothly resumed school. The follow-up impact score remained at 2 three days later, demonstrating sustained therapeutic effectiveness. This article documents the process of the three counseling sessions, and the counselor also discusses and reflects on this case.
