Zhu-You-Shu is a traditional psychotherapy method rooted in Chinese culture, which has both similarities and significant differences with modern psychotherapy. Zhu-You-Shu influences individual mind by words, incantations, and rituals, reflecting the unity of psychology and physiology. There are significant differences in implementation methods and cultural backgrounds between it and modern psychotherapy, but the two have commonalities in the basic goals of psychotherapy, which is mainly shown that the working principle of Zhu-You-Shu is similar to the psychological suggestion, cognitive change, and promotion of individual psychological development in modern psychotherapy techniques. The differences are mainly manifested in treatment modes, treatment means, and treatment concepts. It is able to promote mutual learning, reference, and complementarity between Chinese traditional psychotherapy ideas and modern scientific psychotherapy in different cultural backgrounds to study the Zhu-You-Shu of exploring and developing its psychotherapy theories and techniques with both integrity and innovation. Actively exploring the psychological components of Zhu-You-Shu can help promote the construction and development of Chinese-type psychology, especially Chinese-type psychotherapy theories and methods, and contribute Eastern strength and wisdom to world psychotherapy.
