The purpose of this study is to design a group art counseling program for emotionally troubled children and explore its counseling results. Six children in a primary school in Jiangsu Province were selected as the research objects, and the intervention times were seven times, 60 minutes each. The results showed as follows: (1) Through the analysis and evaluation of the pre and post measurement table of seven group processes, most members’ emotions have a positive improvement. (2) Art therapy, through group activities, can help emotionally troubled children to explore themselves, stabilize their emotions and improve interpersonal relationships. Besides, there are six strong points in group art therapy whose are: (1) Being aware of their emotions when they are “out of control”. (2) The cause of dropping of schools is the conflict between internal cognition and external expectation from parents. (3) Being alone of the mselvesis a self-protective way. (4) Color expresses emotional feelings. (5) A sense of belonging and cohesion in acommunity can transform inner self-defense. (6) Creation is therapy.
