This article is a case report of using the “people-centered” theory to help the client gradually get rid of the negative influence of the family of origin and achieve self-growth. The client was a third-year girl. Due to the deteriorating relationship with her roommate in the same dormitory, the continuous violent conflict led to emotional breakdown and depression. The entire treatment plan was mainly psychological counseling, supplemented by drug treatment. After 28 psychological consultations, which lasted for nearly a year, the client’s self-function was gradually improved, social function was fully restored, and psychiatric drug treatment was gradually reduced until the drug was stopped.
