To explore the intervention effect of Chinese Chess psychological counseling method on individual self-esteem and psychological well-being in group psychological counseling, and the moderating effect of Chinese Chess psychological counseling method on self-esteem, perceived social support, and psychological well-being. 55 psychological school students who participated in group psychological counseling were selected, and the Chinese Chess Psychological Counseling Method was used to focus on improving psychological well-being. After counseling, interviews were conducted and self-esteem, perceived social support, and psychological well-being levels were measured using the Self-esteem Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale, and Psychological Well-being Scale. Pearson Correlation Coefficient was used to analyze and explore the correlation between variables; Paired sample t-test was used to test the differences between the pre and post test results of the subjects. There was a significant positive correlation between the self-esteem level, perceived social support level, and psychological well-being level of students before and after counseling (ps<0.001). There were significant differences (ps<0.001) in the self-esteem level, perceived social support level, and psychological well-being level of the participants, as well as the pre and post test results of each dimension. The Chinese Chess psychological counseling method has improved students’ understanding of perceived social support level, self-esteem, and psychological well-being.
