With the development of modern society, negative emotions such as anxiety and depression among college students are becoming increasingly common. These emotions not only affect individual mental health, but also have a certain negative impact on society. Yoga, as a traditional practice method originating from India, has also received increasing public attention in China in recent years. Research has shown that yoga can not only improve the flexibility and balance of the body, but also help alleviate emotional stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, and improve mental health. In recent years, yoga intervention in college students’ emotions has gradually received attention. This article reviews relevant literature and experimental research, summarizes the research on yoga intervention in college students’ mental health in China, analyzes its advantages and disadvantages, as well as the impact and internal mechanism of yoga on college students’ mental health, and explores the role of yoga as a healthy lifestyle. The purpose is to understand the research progress and status quo, and propose directions and suggestions for future research.
