Expressive writing (EW) is a simple and proven clinical intervention technique in many fields, especially in PTSD. During the childbirth period, women experience short-term or long-term birth trauma as a result of adverse birth experiences, and this has become a major concern for researchers and clinicians in the field of perinatal mental health at home and abroad. In this paper, we review the empirical studies and intervention approaches in this field, and apply the technique of expressive writing to the psychological intervention process of women experiencing birth trauma, through a threestage intervention model of trauma informed, trauma exposure and integration, and post-trauma reconnection, to effectively reduce the impact of birth trauma on women’s physical and mental health.
