This is a case report on the application of Move to Emptiness Technique (MET) in bereavement management for a mother. The client had been suffering from grief, insomnia and other symptoms caused by the death of his eldest son due to illness for more than 20 years. The target symptom of MET is that the viscera are crushed by impact, and the symbolic object is a mass of gas running around the body. The symbolic carrier is a white porcelain vase. It took the client quite some time to take out the gas carefully and attentively. After placing and moving, the client reached psychological empty land. The symptom impact degree decreased from 8 points to 4.5 points, which indicated clinically effective. At follow-up 10 days later, this score reduced to 3. This paper presents the whole process of the daughter (consultant) applying MET on her mother (client) in detail. Also, this paper reflects on and summarizes this process, and discusses the practical significance that MET can be widely used in relatives, friends and other population.
