“Value neutrality” is an important principle in psychological counseling, which emphasizes that the counselor does not judge, guide, take the initiative, evaluate or interfere with the values of the client in the counseling process. At present, the principle of value neutrality has been widely recognized in the field of psychology and has been widely used in the practice of psychological counseling at home and abroad. At present, in many colleges and universities, the principle of value neutrality in psychological counseling and value indoctrination in ideological and political education have conflicts and similarities. For the majority of ideological and political workers in colleges and universities, it will be beneficial to enhance the effectiveness of contemporary ideological and political education to learn some ideas of the principle of value neutrality in the process of ideological and political education.
