Based on the General Attack Model, this study discusses the effect of sand table games
intervention on the impact of violent video game contact on aggressive behavior. After questionnaire
screening (Exposure to Violent Media Questionnaire, Buss-Warren Aggressive Questionnaire), class
teacher’s recommendation and parents’ consent, a second grader was intervened with sand table games for
5 times. The results showed that sand table games could interfere with children’s exposure to violent games
(the score of media contact questionnaire decreased from 31 to 15), and children’s aggressive behavior
also decreased (the score of children’s aggressive behavior scale decreased from 122 to 95). Therefore, sand
table games can be used as an effective method to intervene the contact degree and aggressive behavior of
children’s violent video games.
