In this study, behavioral activation therapy was used as a guide to intervene a college student with social anxiety disorder, construct a case conceptualization of behavioral activation orientation, and explore the adaptability of behavioral activation therapy to short-term psychological counseling and treat for college students. The implementation process was divided into 5 stages and 13 times of treatment. Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS), self-rating depression scale(SDS), Interaction Anxiousness Scale(IAS), therapist observation and client feedback were used to evaluate the efficacy. The results showed that the client had obvious improvement in social behavior, emotion management and cognition. BA has the advantages of simplicity, eficiency and development for short-term psychological counseling. Taking behavioral activation as the leading concept and combining with a variety of psychological treatment techniques can better promote the self-growth of college students.
