Objective:The psychological quality of postgraduates is a key indicator to measure the quality
of postgraduate training. Promoting the overall development of postgraduates’ body and mind is an
important goal of postgraduate education. This study uses the statistical results of 6 annual freshmen
mental health surveys of a comprehensive university, combined with a questionnaire survey of 67
university mental health education directors and 310 graduate students, and finds that the current mental
health of postgraduates is better than that of undergraduates. However, the detection rate of psychological
problems is showing an upward trend; postgraduates have a higher demand for mental health education,
mainly focusing on job hunting, interpersonal communication, stress relief and self-awareness; the
postgraduate mental health education system is not perfect and lacks specific information System
guarantees have a gap with the actual needs and expectations of graduate students in terms of educational
methods, educational content, and educational subjects. Finally, this research starts from several aspects
such as system guarantee, curriculum opening, educational space expansion, enriching educational
channels, etc., to provide relevant suggestions for improving the current psychological health education
system for postgraduates in colleges and universities, and constructing an education system oriented to
the needs of postgraduate psychological development.
