Objective: To investigate the relationship between body image contingencies of self-worth and interaction anxiousness, and the mediating role of resilience in the relationship between body image contingencies of self-worth and interaction anxiousness in middle school students. Methods: 476 middle school students were measured by body image contingencies of self-worth scale (BICSWS), interaction anxiousness scale (IAS) and the resilience scale for Chinese adolescent (RSCA). Results: ①Body image contingencies of self-worth was positively correlated with interaction anxiousness and negatively correlated with resilience. Resilience was negatively correlated with interaction anxiousness. ②Resilience partially mediated the association between body image contingencies of self-worth and interaction anxiousness. Conclusion: Body image contingencies of self-worth can directly affect interaction anxiety, but also indirectly affect interaction anxiety through resilience.
