Objective: To understand the psychological process of Bulimia Nervosa,
explore the psychological characteristics and factors. We hope to find a way to relieve
symptoms. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted. Five people of bulimia
nervosa were interviewed by semi-structural ways. Results: The five people have typical
negative perfectionism tendencies, all have extremely high other-oriented goals and
standards, like excessive planning and controlling, can’t stand failure and mistakes.
In addition, we also found that they have self-negative evaluation tendencies, are
more sensitive to others’ evaluations, easily get anxious and stressed, and are prone to
feelings of regret and fear.
