• Guo Moruo, as a master of modern Chinese literature, has long been the subject of extensive attention regarding his writing style. Particularly, his unique “Ice and Fire” style reveals the interplay of passion and rationality in his works. This article explores the distinctive charm and impact of this writing style from four dimensions: the philosophical background of “Ice and Fire,” the expression of “Ice and Fire,” the formation of “Ice and Fire,” and the reasons behind it. It discovers that his works are not only filled with intense passion in language but also reveal the complexity of human nature through calm analysis. Moreover, Guo Moruo’s writing techniques are influenced by symbolism and expressionism, giving his works a strong emotional expression and visual impact. This lays a solid foundation for understanding Guo Moruo’s literary contributions and his inspirations for contemporary writing.
