As representatives of the youth group, contemporary college studentsare also active in political activities, and they are also the group that is mostsensitive to social trends of thought and social phenomena, and ensuring theirpolitical participation is related to the long-term peace and stability of the entirecountry and is of great importance to the future development of our country.This study mainly uses the questionnaire survey method, a combination ofquota sampling and simple random sampling, and the subjects of this survey arefull-time undergraduate and graduate students in five universities in Shanghai:Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, East China Normal University,Tongji University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Thestudy found that most college students have good political cognition and cancorrectly understand the current political phenomena and social activities,but some college students inevitably have problems in political cognition.It is mainly reflected in the lack of political cognition, political emotionalindifference, and utilitarian tendencies in political motives.
