Psychological entitlement is a newly discovered personality trait, and refers to the trait that individuals consistently believe that deserve more or better
rewards and treatment, and is entitled to more than others. The modern culture and even college students worship the exquisite egoist and Narcissism Epidemic deeply. This concept may interpret and criticize this phenomenon on the level of personality. Although the trait has not been focused by Chinese psychologists,as a phenomenon is very universal in China,it is important to have a reliable and valid measure of psychological entitlement for Chinese people. The 51-item original Psychological Entitlement Scale for Chinese College Students was based on the interviews and open-ended survey for college students, and then a total of 693 students completed original psychological entitlement questionnaire. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis indicate a coherent model, including 3 factors of self-serving,self-glorification and greedy. Self-serving is defined as a tendency to only care about individual own interests but not others;self-glorification is defined as the belief believing in yourself better than others;and greedy is defined as a feature in personality dynamic that individuals never know satisfaction with what they have. The internal consistency coefficient of all items is 0.83,and the internal consistency coefficients of three dimensions are 0.81,0.76 and 0.72,respectively. And after 33 days,85-sample retest reliability is good (r=0.72). Psychological entitlement and the English psychological entitlement scale has significant positive correlation
(r=0.55). The results indicate that the Psychological Entitlement Scale for Chinese College Students has good psychometric properties, and has utility as a self-reportmeasure for future.
