The Effect of Self-perceived Economic Pressure on Depression in College Students: The Chain Mediating effect of Psychological Privilege and Cognitive Confidence
To explore the relationship between perceived economic stress and depression, 1315 college students were assessed by psychological entitlement scale, cognitive questionnaire, Self-rating Depression Scale and self-designed basic information scale. The results showed that: (1) Perceived economic stress had a positive predictive effect on depression; (2) Psychological entitlement and cognitive confidence were positively correlated with depression. (3) Psychological entitlement and cognitive confidence had mediating effects between self-perceived economic stress and depression, respectively. (4) Psychological entitlement and cognitive confidence had a chain mediating effect between self-perceived economic stress and depression.
