An Investigation into the Current Status of Elementary School Students’ Parents’ Meta-emotion Philosophy: Based on the Perspective of Parental Comparison
The concept of parental emotions plays an important role in primary school students’ family education that cannot be ignored. To investigate the developmental differences in demographic variables between father’s and mother’s meta emotional beliefs. This study surveyed 597 fathers and 1074 mothers of fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students using the Parent Meta Emotional Concept Scale and the Population Knowledge Paper. Descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and post hoc test were conducted using SPSS. The results showed that maternal emotional disorder was significantly higher than paternal emotional disorder; There is a significant difference in the emotional exclusion of mothers in their children’s schools; There is a significant age difference in father’s emotional education; There is a significant difference in the emotional beliefs of fathers and mothers in terms of their own education level and number of children; There is no significant difference in parental meta emotional beliefs based on the gender and grade of the child, father meta emotional beliefs based on the location of the child’s school, and mother meta emotional beliefs based on their own age.
