Reflections on the Construction of a Mechanism for the Integration of Investigation, Detection and Interrogation from the Perspective of Deception Detection
Deception detection is criminal science technique for cognitive detection of suspects. In judicial practice, deception detection has become an important mean to assist in case investigation and trial, especially in the investigation of some difficult cases which relevant evidence is missing, deception detection plays a significant role and provides strong technical support for the detection of cases. However, due to the wrong understanding and positioning of the deception detection, and due to the lack of theoretical support on how to cooperate among investigation, detection and interrogation, the deception detection has been misused as a prop for pressure, the conclusion of detection is difficult to be transformed into effective evidence through investigation and interrogation, and the suspects are ‘contaminated’ before the test is carried out, which leads to distorted results. In this paper, from the perspective of deception detection, we reflect on the construction of the ‘integration of investigation, detection and interrogation’ mechanism, in order to analysis how to build an investigation model that closely matches the interrogation, detection and peripheral investigation under the leadership of the overall coordination and with the premise of maintaining the independence of each link, so as to improve the effectiveness of the case investigation and safeguard judicial justice.
