Objective: To explore the current situation and characteristics of college students’ psychological health literacy in the post-epidemic era, providing references for strengthening and improving the mental health education work of college students. Method: The National Psychological Health Literacy Questionnaire was administered to 4617 freshmen of the 2021 class from eight universities in Henan Province, and data were collected and analyzed. Results: College students’ psychological health literacy is at a medium-low level; development is relatively balanced, and gender, major, family origin, and parenting styles have some impact on college students’ psychological health literacy, but the effects are small; there is an imbalance in structure: the literacy of maintaining and promoting psychological health is greater than that of coping with psychological diseases; self-help psychological health literacy is greater than helping others’ psychological health literacy; there is a significant difference in school types, with ordinary undergraduates being greater than vocational colleges. Conclusion: It is necessary to fully recognize the arduousness of college students’ mental health education work, to change students’ attitudes and habits towards mental health and psychological diseases, and to take the teaching of psychological disease knowledge and coping as the breakthrough of current work.
