This study used mindfulness state questionnaire, state anxiety Scale and self-designed group feedback questionnaire to test the intervention effect of single group counseling of expressive art therapy organized by the peers of 30 college students in a sports university in Wuhan. The study found that group intervention can significantly reduce the level of state anxiety and improve the level of mindfulness of group participants. The study results also showed that group participants had higher group satisfaction with group counseling of expressive art therapy. Therefore, this study confirms that expressive art therapy has significant application value in improving emotional state in the single group counseling of college students, and puts forward targeted suggestions for the promotion of this field.
