Talk shows are a humorous and witty art form that use memes to convey performers’ values. They are a popular variety show format that has captivated audiences. Currently, talk shows are increasingly being incorporated into elementary and junior high schools for mental health education. A review of the history of mental health education reveals issues of homogeneity and rigidity in some approaches. The integration of talk shows offers a fresh lease of life to mental health education. Consequently, this paper discusses the origins, characteristics, and value of talk shows, highlights the benefits of integrating talk shows with mental health education in primary and secondary schools, and elucidates their specific value proposition. Finally, it offers insights into practical implementation strategies to ensure the effective use of talk shows in mental health education in primary and secondary schools.
