Rejection Sensitivity refers to the degree to which individuals are sensitive to rejection information in Social communication. With the development of the Internet era, people spend more and more time in Online social communication. To measure rejection sensitivity in online social communication, researchers have compiled the Online and Offline Social Sensitivity Scale. To test the reliability and validity of the Online and Offline Social Sensitivity Scale in Chinese junior high school students, a cluster sampling method was adopted and 1017 junior high school students (aged 13.39±0.80) were selected as subjects for item analysis, validity test, gender difference test and reliability test. The revised scale retained a total of 17 items and was divided into four dimensions: concern for others’ approval, online social interaction, social investment and social risk-taking; the results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fit the data well, with CFI=0.93, TLI=0.91, RMSEA=0.07, SRMR=0.04; the internal consistency reliability (Cronbach’s α=0.91) and test-retest reliability (r=0.77, p<0.001) were good; the criterion-related validity was good. The above results indicate that the revised Online and Offline Social Sensitivity Scale has good reliability and validity in the Chinese junior high school student group and can be used as a measurement tool for rejection sensitivity.
