The purpose of this study was to explore the mediating mechanism between emotionalsusceptibility, emotional regulation ability and self focused attention, and the regulatory role of gender init. The study takes teenagers as the sample, collects data through questionnaire survey, and uses structuralequation model to analyze the mediating effect. The results show that: (1) emotional susceptibility cansignificantly and positively predict self focused attention; (2) Emotional susceptibility predicts selffocused attention through the mediating effect of emotional regulation ability; (3) Gender can regulatethe relationship between emotional susceptibility and emotional regulation ability and self focusedattention. Specifically, compared with girls, boys’ emotional susceptibility has a greater predictive effecton negative emotional regulation ability and emotional susceptibility has a greater predictive effect on selffocused attention. The results reveal the influence mechanism of emotional susceptibility on self focusedattention, provide theoretical support and practical advice for the regulation of mental health and socialdevelopment of adolescents, and provide guidance for the intervention of negative emotions such asanxiety, depression and even clinical psychological diseases.
