Contemporary junior high school students generally have a strong sense of self and have formedtheir own unique opinions and perceptions of interpersonal interactions and relationships, therefore, wemust attach great importance to and strive to improve their interpersonal trust level in order to effectivelyreduce anxiety and other negative emotions or behaviors. In this study, we investigated how attachmentaffects interpersonal trust, and systematically examined the relationships among attachment, emotionregulation, anxiety, and interpersonal trust among 1,541 junior high school students in Anhui Provinceusing the Intimate Relationship Experience-Relationship Structure Scale, the Interpersonal Trust Scale ,the Adolescent Emotional Regulation Ability Questionnaire, and the Depression-Anxiety-Straffic Scale.The results showed that: (1) attachment avoidance was significantly positively correlated with attachmentanxiety and anxiety, and negatively correlated with emotion regulation ability and interpersonaltrust; attachment anxiety was significantly negatively correlated with emotion regulation ability andinterpersonal trust, and positively correlated with anxiety; emotion regulation ability was significantlypositively correlated with interpersonal trust, and negatively correlated with anxiety; and anxiety wassignificantly negatively correlated with interpersonal trust. (2) The mediation effect test showed that in theeffect of attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance on junior high school students’ interpersonal trust,emotion regulation ability and anxiety can play the separate mediation role and chain mediation role.
