Objective: To construct a network of factors affecting loneliness among the elderly based onnetwork analysis methods, explore the interactions between various factors in the network, and evaluatethe key factors in the network. Methods: This study investigated 1025 community elderly (Mage = 61.40,SDage =5.94) in Ningxia and Hubei using the Family Assessment Device, University of California LosAngeles Loneliness Scale, Lubben Social Network Scale, and Filial Piety Practice Scale. Statistical analysiswas conducted using network analysis methods, and the results were visualized using R language. Results:(1) The overall structure of the network diagram formed by related factors and loneliness is stable, withfamily emotional involvement factors and social isolation factors forming relatively dense clusters.(2) Compared with family emotional involvement factors and social isolation factors, intergenerationalsupport factors for children are located on the edge of the network and have a low centrality. (3) Theseventh item of family emotional involvement “Although we have good intentions, we still interfere toomuch with each other’s lives” is located in a relatively central position in the network, but it is negativelycorrelated with most nodes. Conclusion: The study found that to some extent, it has supplementedevidence from the perspective of network analysis for the influencing factors of loneliness among theelderly, providing important intervention targets for further alleviating loneliness among communityelderly.
