The Guiding Outline of Mental Health Education for Students in Colleges and Universitiesclearly states that it is the focus of the current education and teaching work in colleges and universitiesto improve the psychological quality level of modern college students and promote the all-rounddevelopment of students’ comprehensive quality and ability through professional, standardized anddiversified mental health education. It has also become an important goal and task for colleges anduniversities to innovate psychological evaluation methods and teaching intervention mechanisms, andto improve the practice system of mental health education. Painting art therapy uses painting as a meansto deeply analyze the “crux” of the distress and solve the psychological problems in combination withthe “crux”, so as to alleviate the psychological pressure and anxiety. Based on this, this paper will explainhow to use the art of painting therapy to implement the psychological evaluation objectives and teachingintervention requirements, innovate the mental health education model of modern college students ina substantive sense, and give full play to the role of psychological education in colleges and universitiesat a deep level, so as to ensure that students can maintain a stable mentality in the face of setbacks anddifficulties, correctly face difficult problems in learning, and reasonably release psychological pressure.
