In order to fully understand the physical and mental health of retired teachers and provide basis
for strengthening the continuing education of retired teachers, 601 retired teachers were investigated by
questionnaire. The results showed that the health level of some retired teachers was high; the level of selfefficacy
evaluated from the dimensions of physical health and emotion is higher, so the level of mental
health is higher. The level of physical and mental health of retired teachers who have received continuing
education in universities for the elder is higher than that of retired teachers who have not been educated.
The results of the study are conducive to revealing the physical and mental health of retired teachers,
developing the potential of re-socialized human resources, and it is meaningful for strengthening the
lifelong education of retired teachers.
