Facing academic pressure, the mental health of high school students need to be noticed.
Playfulness and humor are emerging themes in positive psychology that should be explored. Thus, this
study examined the Beijing. Female students score significantly higher on measures of mental health than
male students. Playfulness is negatively correlated with low pleasure-seeking motivation, and mental
health problems. Humor is found an explicit expression of playfulness, and mental health problems are
negatively correlated with adaptive humor styles and are positively correlated with maladaptive humor
styles. Taken together, playfulness and adaptive humor styles enhance students’ mental health.
