The results of structured interviews and questionnaire analysis preliminarily verified the
significant negative correlation between self-identity and involution anxiety. In this research, involution
was defined as the inferior state of homogeneous competition. Competitive motivation and competitive
& cooperative psychological tendency were selected as independent variables in our model that of the
impact of competition on involution anxiety of individuals with different self-identity levels. The obtained
conclusions were followed: (1) Involution was divided into low stage, deep stage and hyper stage by
second-order clustering. There is a significant negative correlation between self-identity and involution
anxiety in the groups of three all stage, and the upper stage with high self-identity is an ideal state.
(2) To the people with low-level and middle-level self-identity, external competitive motivation will
increase involution anxiety. (3)To the people in middle-level self-identity stage and high-level selfidentity
stage, high tendency of cooperation, information exchange and resource sharing will effectively
alleviate the involution anxiety. Based on the above conclusions, the model of different competitive factors
alleviating involution anxiety in different self-identity stages was established.
