Objective: To investigate activities of life and mental health of vocational colleges, that
will contribute to provide psychological service for vocational colleges under Epidemic Situation of
COVID-19. Methods: Activities of life and mental health for vocational colleges were assessed by selfreport
questionnaires. The difference of activities of life and mental health between boys and girls
were measured with Chi-square test and t test. Results: About activities of life,vocational colleges are
accustomed to a disordered work and rest schedule every day. Sleep(78.26%) , internet use(81.91%),
watching TV(60.87%), leaning(82.02%), exercise(60.17%) and housework(78.48%) are their main
activities for vocational colleges. The girl was inclined to sleep, internet use, watching TV and leaning.
The boy was inclined to exercise. The average internet time of vocational colleges accounting for 57.33%
were exceed 4h, and the girl was inclined to internet for long time(P<0.05). Significant difference between
boys and girls is existed in game, news, online learning, shopping online and search. The girl was inclined
to online learning, shopping online and search(P<0.05). The boy was inclined to game and news(P<0.05).
Somatization, indignation, unhappiness, fear, anxiety and depression are existed in vocational colleges
accounting for 10.84%, 78.69%, 48.69%, 94.58%, 31.83%, 24.96% respectively. The scores of girls’
unhappiness, anxiety and depression were significantly higher than that of boys’(P<0.05). Conclusion: The
consciousness of COVID-19 and mental health should be enhanced for vocational student. Mental health
disorder is prone to arise for the girls.
