Objective: To investigate the mediating role of self-concept in the relationship between exposure to community violence and depression in junior middle students. Methods:A total of 513 junior middle students were surveyed by the survey of Children's Exposure to Communtiy Violence, Tennessee Self-Concept Scale and Children's Depression Inventory. Results:① The level of exposure to community violence had a significant positive correlation with the depression and had a significant negative correlation with self-concept. Depression was negatively correlated with self-concept.②Mediation analysis revealed that self-concept partially mediated the association between exposure to community violence and depression.
