In order to explore the relationship between College Students’ use behavior of dating apps,
use motivation and Five-Factor Model of personality, 221 college students were investigated by using
TMS and China Big Five personality questionnaire. The results show that: (1) Among the surveyed
students, the highest motivation of using dating apps is the curiosity about dating apps, followed by time
consumption/ entertainment. (2) There are significant differences in neuroticism and conscientiousness
between users and non-users of dating apps. (3) The neuroticism dimension of big five personalities can
predict the motivation to find intimacy and improve social skills. Research shows that college students
who use dating apps to make friends have certain personality characteristics, and their motivation may
be different with different personality characteristics. The purpose of this study is to provide a theoretical
