Abstract: Current models of moral judgement that incorporate emotions include: the social intuition model and the dual processing model. Most scholars believe that positive emotions enhance moral judgments, while a few have come to the opposite conclusion. At the same time, different types of emotions have different effects on moral judgments, with negative emotions such as anger making moral judgments more stringent while positive emotions such as happiness making moral judgments more lenient. This is accompanied by emotion regulation strategies such as cognitive reappraisal and expression inhibition. These findings point the way to the study of the relationship between emotions and moral judgments.
