To study mental health status of college students during the public health emergency, 1055
college students were investigated on the impact of event scale-revised (IES-R) , perceived social support
Scale (SPSS) , and psychology behavior during the epidemic of corona virus disease 2019. We found that
having significant differences between gender on psychology stress expression, perceived social support
and psychology behavior, significant differences between regions on psychology stress expression,
and significant differences between grades on avoidance. Psychology behavior and psychology stress
expression showed significant positive correlation, while significant negative correlations were found in
perceived social support. Psychology stress expression negatively correlated with perceived social support.
Perceived social support had partial mediation effect on the associations among psychology stress
expression and psychology behavior in college students. The intervention focusing on psychology stress
expression and perceived social support might be helpful to prevent negative psychology behavior among
college students in the public health emergency.
