Teenagers are an important stage before an individual enters adulthood, and their growth
is closely linked with family, school and social environment. In order to explore the influence of
parents phubbing on adolescents’ loneliness under the Internet background, this study investigated
561 adolescents with self-made general information questionnaire, parents phubbing scale (PPS) and
loneliness scale (UCLA). The results showed that parents phubbing significantly predicted adolescents’
loneliness positively (r = 0.47, p<0.01). The scores of parents phubbing were divided into high and low
groups, which showed that there were differences in their influence on adolescents’ loneliness (t=-7.86,
p<0.01).
