Objective: To tell the difference of HTP (House-Tree-People), a projective test in which one need draw house, tree and people, between Depression and people with mental health. Method: 30 depressive patients as well as 30 subjects with psychological health were tested with HTP. Results: Eight HTP characteristics, namely, no exquisitely portrayed and decorated roof, stunted tree, no flower, no window, the bifurcate crown, character with opened mouth, no any action and the depiction of the four limbs, were difference between depressed patients and control group. In addition, three of these characteristics which were no window, character without action, bifurcate crown can be used to build the high accuracy rate of Logistic regression equation. Conclusion:HTP was an practicable clinical diagnostic tools for depression.
