Previous studies have shown that there are age differences in emotional processing.With the development of cognitive neuroscience, the neural mechanism behind age differences in emotional processing has become a hot topic of research.In this paper, the recent research achievements in this field are reviewed, and the related researches are systematically described from the aspects of emotion recognition, emotion memory and emotion regulation.In addition to brain function, age differences in emotional processing also have an important physiological basis, which is related to age differences in amygdala, striatum, dopaminergic system and norepinephrine system.
