The study explored the influence of college students’ use of Internet buzzwords on interpersonal
relationships through the self-compiled questionnaire “College Students’ Use of Internet Catchwords
Scale” combined with the “College Student Interpersonal Relationship Comprehensive Diagnostic Scale”.
The survey results show that: (1) There is a significant positive correlation between the frequency of use of
online buzzwords by college students and the ability of college students to talk to others, the ability to deal
with people, and the ability to communicate with others; (2) The cognition and use of Internet buzzwords
There is a significant negative correlation between the feelings of buzzwords and the various dimensions
of college students and interpersonal relationships; (3) The feelings of using Internet buzzwords have a
significant negative predictive effect on college students’ interpersonal relationships.
