Objective: to explore the status of school belonging and it’s differences in different demographic
variables of the Veteran College Students. Methods: A total of 150 university students were investigated by
the sense of school belonging scale, which was translated and revised by Cheung and Hui. Results: There were
no significant differences in the sense of school belonging among the Veteran College Students in terms of
gender, professional attributes and whether the school had the relevant veterans’ organizations. And there were
significant differences in the dimensions of whether they were student cadres (p<0.001), the sense of school
belonging of the retired college students who served as student cadres was significantly higher than that of the
students who did not serve as student cadres. Conclusion: The gender and professional attributes of the Veteran
College Students do not affect their school sense of belonging. Serving as a student cadre after returning to school
is helpful to improve the school sense of belonging, the main reason of no difference in the sense of belonging is
the imperfect organizational construction of relevant veterans.
