Abstract: “信仰/faith”作为一个抽象概念，人们通常借助隐喻来对其进行表达。本研究以北京语言大学现代汉语语料库和美国当代英语语料库为基础，分别对“信仰”和“faith”的隐喻语料进行分析与归纳。研究发现，二者既存在相同点，又有其独特之处。中、西方国家不同的文化使得人们在喻体选择上存在差异，而人类共同的情感体验决定了信仰隐喻的普遍性。
As an abstract concept, “faith” is often expressed through metaphors. This study is based on the Modern Chinese Corpus of Beijing Language and Culture University and the Contemporary English Corpus of the United States, and analyzes and summarizes the metaphorical corpora of “faith” and “faith” respectively. Research has found that the two have both similarities and unique features. The different cultures between Chinese and Western countries result in differences in the choice of metaphors, and the shared emotional experience of humanity determines the universality of metaphorical beliefs.
