Foreign language learning mainly refers to the conscious acquisition of languages that are not frequently used in daily communication through formal education in classrooms.Among them, the context of the target language is indispensable for foreign language learning. The authentic context can assist learners in gradually and unconsciously acquiring the target language. Cross-cultural pragmatics mainly focuses on pragmatic issues in cross-cultural contexts. Cross-Cultural Pragmatics and Foreign Language Learning combines the two and proposes a contrastive pragmatic framework from the perspective of cross-cultural pragmatics, helping to sort out language and cultural differences as well as pragmatic problems in foreign/second language learning, thereby filling the research gap. This paper intends to introduce and briefly review this book.
