美国夏威夷州法定别名Aloha State的文化内涵及其汉译

• 摘要： 夏威夷州法定别名AlohaState有着极其深刻的文化内涵，它不仅十分贴切地表达了夏威夷州的文化现实,而且体现了夏威夷州的文化现实，同时还象征着夏威夷州的文化现实。研究夏威夷州别名AlohaState的文化内涵不仅有助于我们为中国读者提供准确的汉语译名而且有助于我们向他们传播夏威夷文化。像任何其他事物的别名一样，夏威夷州别名AlohaState具有描述性，即描写夏威夷州的某种文化特征。把它意译为“爱心州”“友爱州”“仁爱州”或“博爱州”再现了源语的描述性，而音译名“阿洛哈州”或“阿罗哈州”未能再现源语的描述性，未能清晰地反映出夏威夷州的文化特征，稍显朦胧。
• Hawaii’s official nickname Aloha State has a very profound cultural connotation. It not only expresses Hawaii’s cultural reality, but also embodies its cultural reality and meanwhile symbolizes its cultural reality. Doing research on its cultural connotation helps us not only offer some of its proper Chinese versions to Chinese readers but also spread Hawaiian culture to them. Like the nicknames of any other things, Hawaii’s nickname Aloha State is descriptive. That is to say , it can describe a certain cultural trait of Hawaii. Rendering Aloha State into “ 爱心州 ” “ 友爱州 ” “ 仁爱州 ” or “ 博爱州 ” is a reproduction of the descriptive nature of the source language whereas the transliterations “ 阿洛哈州 ”and “ 阿罗哈州 ” fail to reproduce the descriptive nature of the source language or reflect clearly Hawaii’s cultural trait ,thus letting Chinese readers have a sense of vagueness.
