模因论视角下《红楼梦》霍译本的研究

• 摘要： 《红楼梦》霍译本作为广受好评的一版翻译，其体现的翻译原则对中国文学作品外译具有一定的借鉴意义。本文从模因论这一视角出发，探讨了霍译本的翻译原则与局限性，得出结论：为了源语模因的成功复制，译文应忠实原著意义风格、贴近读者、避免发生损失原文文化信息的变异。
• The English version of The Story of the Stone translated by David Hawkes is widely praised, and the translation principles can also be applied in Chinese literature translation. This paper analyzes and discusses the translation principles and limitations of Hawkes’ translation from the perspective of Memetics. The conclusion is that, in order to promote the successful replication of source language meme, the translation should: (1) be faithful to represent the meaning and style of the source text; (2) take readers’ background into consideration; (3) avoid variation that will cause cultural loss.
